Building Kidz needed a facility that passed strict childcare licensing requirements while creating an environment that felt welcoming to the families they serve. Located in Palmera Ridge, one of Leander's growing residential communities, this project required close coordination with Texas childcare facility code requirements alongside standard commercial construction permitting.
Freccia managed the complete build scope for this commercial childcare facility: structural new construction, specialized HVAC zoned for classroom-sized spaces, plumbing for multiple bathrooms sized for children and staff, dedicated secured entry and exit systems, commercial kitchen preparation space, outdoor play area perimeter construction, and all interior finish-out work.
Texas childcare facilities face code requirements around square footage per child, bathroom ratios, fire suppression, exit routing, outdoor play surface standards, and ventilation that go beyond typical commercial tenant improvement work. Freccia's team navigated the full permit and inspection process, including HHSC licensing inspections, to bring Building Kidz to its certificate of occupancy.
Childcare operators face a hard dependency: the license can't be issued until construction is complete, and families are depending on an opening date. Freccia's project management approach kept this build on schedule from groundbreak through final inspection, allowing Building Kidz to open their doors to Leander families as planned.
